Newton businesses and nonprofits are hiring!
Qualified employees can earn $1,000 in cash bonuses for taking a job in Newton.
The City of Newton in partnership with MassHire Metro South/West and the Newton-Needham Regional Chamber is offering cash incentives of up to $1,000 to any currently unemployed and underemployed individuals who secure employment of up to 20 hrs/week or more with a qualifying Newton employer.
Qualified newly hired employees will earn a $500 cash bonus after four weeks of employment and an additional $500 cash bonus for remaining with the same employer through the week of Dec. 20, 2021.
The Newton Hires program will be run through the MassHire Metro South/West office and is available beginning Aug. 9, 2021. The program is limited to the first 200 individuals who get hired in Newton, remain employed, and qualify for the cash awards.
Employees do not need to live in Newton to be eligible for a bonus but the business/nonprofit must be located in Newton.
Newton Based Employer Requirements
In order for employees to become eligible for the “Newton Hires” hiring incentive bonus, the employer must:
- Be a Newton-based business or nonprofit with a physical location in the City of Newton.
- Register their business or nonprofit and available job openings with MassHire Metro South/West either by contacting us by phone or on-line at: https://jobquest.dcs.eol.mass.gov/jobquest/Employers/
- Employer does not need to be a member of the chamber.
